Connect DeepSeek Flash to Meowport AI Butler

Register, create a key, fund API usage and configure AI Butler on iPhone or iPad. No coding needed. Choose one provider; you do not need to fund all three.

These three providers are recommended by Meowport after practical connection testing, with setup guides provided; they are not the only options. You may choose other OpenAI-compatible services, including models running on your own local network. Weigh trust, privacy, cost and model capabilities yourself. API compatibility does not guarantee every feature; support depends on the model and server implementation.

Before you pay

• Meowport Pro unlocks AI Butler; API credit does not unlock Pro.
• Provider API charges are separate from Pro.
• Chat memberships and coding plans do not automatically fund this API setup.

The display version is DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017; the API model ID below has no date suffix. The provider may update the model behind this ID. Flash does not mean free.

1. Register

1. Open the official platform DeepSeek Flash, choose sign up/log in and use your own account.
2. Personal online recharge requires real-name verification. Follow the personal flow, not enterprise remittance. Submit identity materials only to the official platform.

2. Create an API key

1. Open API Keys in the correct account.
2. Create a dedicated key named, for example, Meowport iPhone. Copy it; use separate device keys where possible and restrict permissions/budgets if offered.

3. Fund API usage

1. Check API balance, eligible credits and current prices via Official billing; do not buy a chat membership instead.
2. Follow official recharge prompts. Kimi and DeepSeek currently support personal WeChat/Alipay payments after verification. Check minimum amount, payment options, expiry and refunds before paying; start small and confirm balance/billing before paying again.

Charges depend on model, input/output tokens and applicable cache/credit rules. Long conversations, records, reasoning and attachments can cost more. No fixed per-message price or refund is promised. Check official usage and bills; use budgets/alerts if offered, but an alert may not be a hard cap.

4. Configure Meowport

Open Settings → AI Butler → Custom Model API (Advanced) and enter:

• Base URL: https://api.deepseek.com
• API Key: Your own API key.
• Model name: deepseek-flash

Use the exact Base URL and model ID, without spaces or adding a chat endpoint. Get Available Models is optional: an empty list permits manual entry; a loaded list does not prove chat access or balance. Tap Save Model Settings.

The key is stored in this device’s Keychain. The App contacts the configured provider directly; configure other devices separately. A recognized endpoint is not a provider endorsement.

For a LAN model, the device running Meowport must reach the model server; allow local network access when prompted and enter an address reachable from that device. On a phone, localhost means the phone, not your computer. HTTP is allowed only for LAN addresses recognized by the App; public services require HTTPS. Self-hosting does not automatically prevent outbound connections or data retention: check the server settings.

5. Try a read-only question

From Overview, tap the white cat at the top right. Ask: ‘Please only confirm you can reply; do not add or edit records.’ Read any third-party sending confirmation before agreeing. Even this test may include relevant record context and incur charges.

Start with short text. Enable ‘I confirm this model supports vision input’ only if needed and you accept sending images. Official model capabilities do not prove every App image/report workflow works. Long requests may time out.

Troubleshooting

• Butler unavailable: check Meowport Pro first.
• Authentication/401: check account, key type, completeness and revocation; never send the key to support.
• Balance/credit error: check API billing and model-specific eligibility before recharging.
• Model/parameter error: check the exact Base URL and model ID.
• 429, server errors or timeout: may be rate limits, overload or network trouble; wait and retry briefly, not repeated payments.

For support, share only App version, time, provider/model and a redacted error. Hide keys, identity information and private records. Codes and page labels may change.

Privacy, costs and responsibility

You establish the API service and payment relationship directly with the provider. Meowport offers connection and configuration features, rather than that third-party API service. Mentioning a provider or supporting its API does not imply a partnership, agency or guarantee. Its account, billing and provider-side data processing follow its terms. This does not affect Meowport’s responsibility for its own features or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Choose and trust the provider yourself; read its terms and data practices. Requests can include messages, relevant pet records and selected image/file content. Ensure you may share it; remove unnecessary third-party personal details. Do not assume no retention or no cross-border processing. See Meowport’s privacy policy and terms below.

AI can make mistakes or omit information. Verify results before accepting or saving them; do not base decisions solely on AI. Check AI answers, pet, dates, values and units before saving; health decisions belong with a veterinarian. Stopping a request may not cancel provider charges. Meowport cannot manage third-party accounts, refunds or data deletion. These notices do not exclude responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Stop using it or handle a leaked key

If a key may be exposed, revoke/delete it at the provider FIRST, then inspect usage and account security, create a replacement and update devices. Deleting a screenshot does not revoke it. To stop normally, switch mode and clear the local key, and revoke unused provider keys. Local removal does not revoke external copies or erase data already received by the provider.
